Methodology
Run speeds tested in game for Crocodile, Polar Bear, Bear, Panther, Tiger, Boar, Stag, Wolf: on our own server each chased a target on flat ground and we timed its top speed. Tested on the current version of Rust.

- The Crocodile with 450 HP, then the Polar Bear (420) and the Bear (325). The Chicken has the least at 25 HP.
- How much damage does a bear do in Rust?
- A Bear hits for 35 every 3s from 2.5 m. A Polar Bear hits for 45.
- Can you outrun animals in Rust?
- Mostly no. A sprinting player runs 5.5 m/s. Faster: Panther 15 m/s, Tiger 15 m/s, Wolf 9 m/s, Stag 8.25 m/s, Crocodile 8 m/s, Polar Bear 8 m/s, Bear 8 m/s, Boar 5.6 m/s. You can outrun the Chicken (2 m/s).
- Which animal gives the most leather in Rust?
- The Crocodile: 170 Leather per corpse. Next are the Polar Bear (125) and the Bear (100). The Crocodile also gives the most Animal Fat (120).
