How Does The Recycler Work in Rust?
The Recycler is a world-placed utility found at monuments throughout the Rust map. It breaks down items into their base components, giving you raw materials like Scrap, High Quality Metal (HQM), Metal Fragments, and Cloth. Recyclers can be found at most major monuments including Outpost, Bandit Camp, Launch Site, Airfield, and Harbor.
Items placed in the recycler will be processed one at a time. The yields shown above represent the standard output for each item. Some items have a chance-based output, meaning you may receive bonus materials on certain recycles. The recycler processes items at a fixed rate and cannot be sped up.
Recycling Tips
Focus on recycling components you do not need for crafting. Rifle Bodies and Laptops provide the highest HQM yield. Tech Trash and Gears are the best sources of Scrap from recycling. Always consider whether you need the component for a craft before recycling it.
