Methodology
Yellow safe-zone recyclers run a cycle every 8 s, green ones every 5 s (4.5 s once the Power Plant has 18 or more Heavy Fuses in) and the red Power Plant recycler every 4 s. Every cycle eats 10% of a stack, at least 1. The Salvage Workbench Upgrade does not change recycler output.
Rust Recycler Yields at 40, 50, 60 and 75 Percent
A recycler breaks an item back into its blueprint ingredients. Each ingredient returns its recipe amount times the recycler's rate, divided by how many items one craft makes. Whole units are guaranteed and any remainder is a chance at one extra unit. Scrap scales with the rate too: the figure on the item is the 50% rate, so a safe-zone recycler pays 80% of that and the Power Plant red recycler pays 150%. Leftover scrap fractions carry over to the next item instead of being rolled. The table assumes full condition: a damaged item returns less.
- 40% Safe zone: Outpost, Bandit Camp and Floating City recyclers. Always available, lowest rate. One cycle every 8 s.
- 50% Monument: Green recyclers at monuments while the Power Plant has fewer than 4 Heavy Fuses in. One cycle every 5 s.
- 60% Monument (powered): Green recyclers once the Power Plant has 4 or more Heavy Fuses in. With 18 or more in they also cycle faster. One cycle every 5 s.
- 75% Power Plant: The red recycler at the Power Plant. Only runs with 18 or more Heavy Fuses in. One cycle every 4 s.
Methodology
Tested in game on our own server: all 1,003 recyclable items at 40%, 50%, 60% and 75%. Every cycle eats 10% of the max stack, at least 1, so a stack of 20 gears moves 2 at a time. The recycler works one stack at a time. Tested on the current version of Rust.
